In this new volume of the HDIW collection we have devoted ourselves to one of the subjects that is not very much treated in general by the bibliography for the training of pilots. Aircraft systems and flight instruments. We know that these subjects are based on principles, theorems and postulates of physics, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, which is why, without ignoring the fundamental bases, each one of them has been presented in such a way that the theory explains the operation, without falling into theoretical developments without a tangible or practical application.as in all the volumes of the collection, the objective is the training and the contribution of complementary knowledge to strengthen the professional career of pilots. In this case, we focus on the professional pilot being able, not only to control the aircraft, but also to understand the principles of operation of the instruments and systems under his command. The knowledge of the "behind the instrument" is key, since understanding a failure can not only contribute to the management of a potential emergency, but also provides tools for decision making with respect to the use or application of other systems, instruments, etc.
