Performing flight calculations is an essential skill that every pilot must have. Fuel, distance, speed, time, angle, volume, arm, momentum, capacity, duration, weight, and balance are crucial numbers for a flight plan. Teaching students how to perform calculations using an E6B can be challenging. ASA's E6B Classroom Trainer makes teaching flight computer calculations easy and fun.
This full-function, full-scale E6B flight computer is made of durable plastic and sits on a sturdy metal base. It works exactly like a portable flight computer featuring a wind component grid and full crosswind correction graph on one side, and on the other side, the slide calculates time, speed, distance, altitude, true airspeed and density altitude problems, as well as conversions. Wing nuts allow for tension adjustments on the slide rule. Large knobs on both sides allow easy azimuth rotation for calculations. The windy side can be marked with a dry or wet erase marker. Nautical and statutory scales are included.
