We begin part of our aeronautical career flying completely alone or with an instructor assigned to a specific task. The flight hours go by and our cockpit starts to be shared with colleagues, friends, instructors, etc. But after a long way of experience, the time comes to share a professional cockpit with another pilot as part of a working team. This is where beginners or inexperienced pilots, who lack the knowledge and training in a shared cockpit, often have difficulties in solving the usual tasks.

Flying in a shared cockpit is not only a challenge for pilots who have spent their careers flying solo, but also for the airlines who contemplate this possibility and invest resources in training pilots to the highest safety standards. 

Considering this, a pilot with knowledge and mastery of shared cockpit flying techniques and airline flight resources, represents a competitive advantage when applying for a job in an airline, unlike the rest of the pilots who lack these tools.

Learning to fly in a shared cockpit as an airline involves getting to know your co-worker, forming a team where you can share tasks, distributing roles, being objective and self-critical but still being friendly with each other.

Airline flying is teamwork, where there will be a leader and an advisor, figures who will change roles all the time and challenge pilots to adapt. Airline flying is more than just flying, it is sharing, assisting, correcting, helping, cooperating and "pushing" together with the same goal, to carry out a successful and safe flight.
