The aeronautical history of the city of Huesca celebrates, like many others in this period, its first centenary during this year 2011. Nothing would presuppose that this one, in particular, would enjoy a special interest over many others if it were not for the unquestionable fact that Huesca can afford to celebrate this event thanks to a local pioneer. Indeed, the city of Huesca celebrates this anniversary thanks to Gregorio Campaña, the third pilot registered in our country only preceded by Benito Loygorri and the Infante de Orleans.
From the pioneers to the present is the particular history of the development of the dream of flying circumscribed to a specific geographical environment: the city of Huesca and its region, La Hoya de Huesca, and to a specialty of aerial activity, gliding, which made it one of the places of reference for sportsmen and amateurs from all over the world for decades. 100 years ago, Gregorio Campaña, a local pioneer, made his first flight in an area near the capital of Huesca.
The book, of 400 large-format pages, carefully edited and bound in hard cover, has more than 400 photographs, most of them unpublished, and more than 150 documents.
