BUCHON. The BF 109 "Made In Spain" tells the fascinating story of the Spanish Messerschmitt, with special emphasis on the most distinctively national model, the "Buchón".
Surely there is consensus in accepting the statement that one of the legendary aircraft in the history of world combat aviation is the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter. Piloted by some of the most outstanding aviators, it accumulated in its record the shooting down of hundreds of enemies in the various fronts during the Second World War. However, the glorious history of this aircraft did not end with the end of that conflict, as it continued to serve for several more years in the Spanish Air Force, adapting to different variants.
Throughout these pages, we will witness the process of conception, development and deployment of an aircraft that demanded practically handcrafted works in terms of engineering, armament and manufacturing techniques. This aircraft entered combat more than twenty years after its conception, in the territories of Ifni and the Sahara, and then became a real movie star.
