Basic Avionics in Aircraft deals with aircraft electronic systems in a general way, including some specificities that differentiate the fixed-wing from the rotary-wing.
The contents are developed around the CNS concept, which encompasses the equipment assigned to communications, navigation, and tracking systems.
To this end, the definition of avionics is started and the bases of current electronic systems are described, in which the control theory evolves from electromechanical systems to computerized equipment.

It also describes different avionics computers and BITE systems and explains the certification standards, which currently represent an added difficulty for the verification and acceptance of aeronautical systems. Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), control theory, digital modulation, new radio evolutions (SDR, cognitive...), Data Link, PALS and TLS systems, Mode S, ADS-B, and GPWS are introduced.
Finally, two annexes are included; one dedicated to the sensors used in the wide variety of aeronautical equipment and the other focused on analog and digital electronics.
The book is directly focused on aeronautical/aerospace engineering studies, Avionics and Aeromechanics vocational training courses, and centers dedicated to obtaining EASA maintenance licenses. Likewise, people interested in subjects related to the aeronautical world will find that most of their doubts will be satisfied and solved.
The author, Jesús Martínez Rueda, has extensive professional experience in the electrical-electronic branch of aeronautical systems, as he has worked in national and international aircraft and helicopter maintenance companies for more than 30 years.
In addition, he has taught Aeromechanics and Avionics Vocational Training since 2002 and has been a professor of Aeronautical Systems at the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
