Manual del Piloto de Ultraligero

This book provides the theoretical knowledge required to obtain the ultralight pilot's certificate in an accessible way. Its content is specially adapted to the piloting of the most widespread types of ultralight aircraft today, such as the fixed-wing multi-axis ULM (MAF), commonly known as the "three-axis ULM", and the centre-of-gravity displacement ULM (DCG), better known as the "pendulum ULM".

This new edition incorporates the updated regulations governing the use of ULMs (Royal Decree 765/2022, of 20 September), as a legal novelty that aims to adapt the regulation to a sector in constant evolution both in the use of materials and in the design of modern ultralight aircraft. Likewise, the contents are governed by the current regulations that regulate ULM flight licences in Spain (Royal Decree 123/2015, of 27 February) and develop the mandatory subjects such as principles of flight, general knowledge of the aircraft, performance, meteorology, operational procedures, navigation, human limitations, aeronautical communications and regulations applicable to ultralight flight. All of this, with specific reference to basic flight manoeuvres and without forgetting the standard emergency procedures to be followed in the event of the main contingencies that could occur during operations.

The author has been an airline pilot since 1990 and combines his professional activity as a technician in the Public Administration with sporting aeronautical activity. He has extensive flying experience in both general aviation and ultralight aviation, having carried out ULM flight instruction duties. On the other hand, he has a wide university background linked to the pedagogical field, which gives him the essential keys for the elaboration of didactic supports that facilitate the learning process.
