Manual piloto Autogiros
Despite the fact that almost a century has passed since the first gyroplane in history flew (Getafe, Spain 1923), theoretical flight training continues to be one of the "unfinished business" in Spain, where the scarcity of bibliography is evident when we talk about the gyroplane.
The gyroplane is still the most unknown of all aircraft classes, often being considered as a simple intermediate step in the invention of the helicopter. While it is true that Juan de la Cierva's developments are fully applicable to modern helicopters, it is no less true that the gyroplane is being reborn as a unique aircraft, thanks to its good qualities and safety in flight.
"The Gyroplane Pilot's Handbook is a book which, without renouncing academic rigour, focuses on practicality. Thus, starting with the principles and theories of flight, it explains the aerodynamic fundamentals and the operation of gyroplanes in a practical and accessible way, and then goes into a reasoned explanation of the basic and advanced flight techniques. An important part of the book is also dedicated to instilling an aeronautical mentality in the way of operating ultralights, highlighting the philosophy of action in emergencies and exploring the risks inherent in the limits of rotary wing aircraft operation. It also includes all those aspects that, without being a specific part of the art of flying, form part of the knowledge that every pilot must have to be able to fly responsibly and safely.
It also includes all the syllabus of the new syllabus reflected in the RD 123/2015 that regulates the ultralight pilot's licence and ratings.
This knowledge, presented in a pedagogical way, is complemented with a glossary of specialised terms, with the aim of making it as easy as possible to understand the topics proposed.
