The 46th Wing celebrated its first 50 years of history on April 1, 2015.
For this reason, this book has been published, whose intention is to give a review of the history of the Unit in a dynamic, close, very graphic and mainly oriented to the human element, as the most valuable component within the organization of the Air Force.
To achieve the above, the publication focuses mainly on personal experiences, anecdotes and curiosities of these first 50 years of existence, going through the deployment of its precursor units, such as the Desert Squadron established in 1928, through its predecessor, the 36th Wing, formed in 1957, and ending with the current Unit, which includes a single Air Force Squadron, the 462nd, but equipped with one of the most versatile and capable fighter aircraft of our days, the F-18.
