The Junkers Ju 52 (nicknamed Tante Ju (Aunt Ju)) was a German transport aircraft used occasionally as a bomber ; it was a low-wing monoplane with fixed undercarriage and metal skin, a descendant of the Junkers F 13. Despite its archaic features, with fixed undercarriage, angular lines and corrugated skin, the Ju 52 was not only present in all German wartime operations in World War II, but also took part in some of the so-called "post-war wars".
