With the arrival of GPS systems in small aircraft, schools have stopped prioritising all the procedures and techniques of air navigation observed in order to simplify these concepts in the operation of a GPS system, which has been a great academic advance, but this achievement is of no use without understanding the fundamental basis of navigation, the same work that GPS performs.
In this manual, the aeronautical library team proposes you to cover everything about air navigation, to go back to the roots, to go back to the essence of air navigation in its early days, to meet again with the visual navigation charts to plot courses, to obtain distances, but also to plan an instrumental navigation by airway, using IFR cartography and all the communication processes in Spanish and English.
The final objective of this manual will be to provide each reader with the necessary tools to be able to interpret a given weather condition, its variables and its tendencies of change. We will learn to interpret the different types of clouds, the stages of a storm, the sky, visibility, the different weather reports and the most dangerous conditions, which we may have to face at some point in our aeronautical career, but which HDIW will no longer find us defenceless and without the tools to avoid them.
