As a novelty, the Bose A30 Headset features a touch system to improve individual hearing for the ear closest to your flight partner. The A30 model also offers a convenient and quick tool-free system for changing the microphone position and/or the different connection types.

Choose your Connector Type:

  • Dual GA: 1 5.2mm jack and 1 6.3mm jack connector. It is the most common type of connection on airplanes.

The Bose A30 introduces the Control-Touch feature for voice communication.

It optimizes the earpiece being "tapped" for voice communications with crew outside the intercom.

It allows users to optimize hearing within the voice range to improve voice intelligibility and communications with those not using an intercom.

3 ACTIVE NOISE REDUCTION MODES

The best balance of silence, comfort and audio clarity Bose has ever produced with three user-selectable acoustic noise cancellation modes for a range of noise reduction in a variety of scenarios and aircraft.

It allows pilots to choose from three noise-canceling modes to adjust the spectrum of "noise" they hear.

Bose noise reduction technology optimizes the pilot experience by attenuating background distractions. Low-frequency noise reduction allows users to hear communications audio in lower, more comfortable modes.

Low mode enhances interpersonal communication outside the intercom.

Medium mode is designed for typical jet aircraft and provides sufficient active noise cancellation for clear and comfortable radio communication. The medium mode also meets the latest ARINC recommendation for noise reduction in jet aircraft.

Finally, high mode provides a better experience in noisier aircraft with the best Bose intercom signal-to-noise ratio to date.

High-quality top and bottom copper cables include up to 17 separate conductor lines to enable the transfer of power, signals and data to and from the headphones.

Kevlar-cored copper wires keep the cable in place, and flexible insulation ensures durability and TSO compliance in the most demanding environments, including TSO flame resistance.

Power LEDs and battery life indicators

Lights indicate when noise cancellation is activated, as well as remaining battery hours (green: healthy; slow flashing amber: 8 hours remaining; fast flashing red: less than 2 hours remaining).

It provides users with a real-time indication of battery life.

With fresh batteries, users can expect at least 25 hours of continuous use with Bluetooth® and more than 45 hours without Bluetooth®.

Control module

It features volume controls for the left and right channels, a noise cancellation mode switch, an LED light indicating battery status, a power switch, audio prioritization circuitry and two AA batteries.

The module fits comfortably in users' hands or can be stored in a pocket or hung using the included hanger or cable clips.

Cable clamp and control module holder

Secures the cable and control module out of the way while providing easy access.

Improves ergonomics by keeping the cable out of the way and the control module in an accessible location.

Communications bypass

Provides full communication function, even when the headset is turned off or the batteries are dead.

The headset provides communications (microphone and audio) with or without batteries, ensuring that users will not miss important communications.

Compatible with various intercom systems

Utility in multiple TSO-certified systems, including Honeywell, Becker, Garmin, PS Engineering, Rockwell Collins and others.

Electrical and acoustic connection and design ensure compatibility with several different systems.

The "off" switch allows pilots to achieve a sterile cockpit environment by completely turning off the Bluetooth® radio and chipset.

Earphone volume control

Allows independent headphone adjustments to suit user preferences for both mono and stereo/binaural systems.

Flexible power

The headset can be powered by various types of batteries, including rechargeable batteries. Aircraft powered units will bypass the batteries when aircraft power is applied. The USB connection on the control module can also power the headset.

The headset can be powered from whatever source is most convenient for the user.

Firmware upgradeable

Possibility to update firmware via USB connection inside the control module.

Allows for potential new functionalities, enhancements and compatibility improvements.

Five-year limited warranty

CONFIGURATIONS

You can order your BOSE A30® with any of the following connectors and optional Bluetooth:

  • Two plugs: 1 5.3mm jack and 1 6.2mm jack. This is the most common type of connection on aircraft.

  • 6-pin (LEMO): connector to obtain power from the aircraft panel (on models with this system) instead of from the headset batteries.

  • 5-pin XLR: connector type used on Airbus aircraft.

  • U174: connector used on helicopters.

If you choose the Bluetooth setting, you can enjoy music or receive calls wirelessly and in Bose sound quality. It also allows you to pair your A30 with more than one device, and you can even receive alerts from your favourite apps.

The Bose A30s provide similar overall noise reduction as the A20, but with a different weight distribution and considerably lower pressure force.
Can I interchange control modules or other parts and accessories from my A20 or ProFlight with the Bose A30?
No. The control module can only be used with the model for which it was built. Although some of the ear pads and parts can be forced into the Bose A30 aviation headset, they were not designed for this product.
