The 35th Wing is located at Getafe Air Base and was created on July 1, 1955 as a specific transport unit. Since then, it is one of the most emblematic and traditional units of the Spanish Air Force.
It operates with the Spanish-made Airbus C-295 (T-21) aircraft.
It is the first fixed-wing unit of the Air Force that has acquired the specific role of special air operations, thanks to the tactical capabilities of its aircraft and continuous training in this type of operations.
