The book Cuando Volabas begins with the unpredictable eruption of the Maipo volcano, in the Andean mountain range, which causes the emergency landing of flight 0307. The commander, Carlos Zabala, decides to do it off the runway in a plantation southwest of Cordoba (Argentina), thus avoiding the city and a major catastrophe. He turns out to be the only one seriously injured. During his prolonged recovery in the hospital, the most influential people in his life parade through his room: family, friends, loves. These visits make him relive some of his most significant personal and professional episodes. However, during the investigation of the accident, the performance is questioned on the basis of his intrepid career as a pilot.
